Another Milestone Reached!

Yes, you’ve read well. Today, I planned the second instalment of my series Down to Earth. Okay, you’ve got me: I’m not even done with the first one! So why did I go planning the second one (and currently am in the process of doing so with the third)?

Well, it’s simple. In an entertaining yet very helpful book about writing (which I got for free with Kindle Unlimited, yay!), the author said that in order to write a series, you must know exactly what happens in the other books and more precisely at the end.

I had a vague idea of the overall series and what she said hit home. Thus, I grabbed a pen and a sheet of paper and wrote away. I must say I am proud of myself as I have discovered some neat events in the course of my series.

I yet have to plan the other volumes, but I feel as though I reached the next milestone. I am even more prepared to talk about my story and confident about where I am going with it.

Granted, I never liked outlines – I always felt they were too… tight. Yet I’ve come to realize I might need one for my series to work out perfectly. I believe what the author says about series: one must know exactly where they’re headed with their story or it will fall flat, mostly for a series in need of a defined ending.

Trust me, after all those years spent writing, I’m still learning.

Here’s the book (if ever you’re interested in reading it, which I recommend):  Writing the Fiction Series

Please, do comment with whatever book or tool you’re using in your writing! Thus, we could discuss them. 🙂

P.S.: Thanks for sticking with me.

To Do or – Oh, Wait, This Looks Fun!

I am supposed to write Thomas Lance’s background story excerpt today. However, I have this story of mine that keeps surfacing… It’s from a dream I had a year or so ago, and it really wants to be written.

I keep seeing the characters in action and the setting like a real movie in my mind! So, I’m torn between doing what I must for NaNoWriMo Prep and starting this new story.

Everybody knows what wins.

So, I’m off to writing the new story!

I already know its title, but I won’t tell you ;). A woman has to keep some things secret until the big reveal.

P.S.: A HUGE thanks to my followers. It means a lot to me to see that my journey writing is of interest to you. Please, if you want to interact, leave me comments and I’ll be more than happy to respond!

I Give You a Summary!

For NaNoWriMo Prep, I wrote a summary of my new novel from Miranda’s POV (one of my two main characters). Remember that it is subject to change, but so far, this is what it looks like (hope you enjoy!):

One day I dream of being a world-renowned boxing champion and the next I want to protect others. It all began when I was hanging out with my friend on a Saturday afternoon. A young criminal, Thomas Lance, attacked and frightened us. From that day on, I, Miranda Kane, swore to become the heroine the people need.

This is the story of how I almost lost everything by becoming Feather.
This is my story.

Oh, Outline, Outline…

As you probably have guessed from the title, I’m currently outlining my new novel in the NaNoWriMo Prep, titled The Stranger: The Rise of a Heroine.

I have the beginning and the middle, but the ending has yet to be found…

I’ll update you when it’s complete!

For now, I’ll need a

Divine move

P.S.: Dylan O’Brien is my faceclaim for my deranged Thomas Lance, one of my two main characters. I think he has his potential and energy, along with his ense of humor, which clearly show in his roles.

Thank you, Dylan, for being my Thomas’ appearance and source of inspiration along with my imagination.

A Heartbreaking Goodbye (Miranda’s Background Excerpt)

In preparation for NaNoWriMo, I wrote a background story for Miranda Kane, my main character in my upcoming novel. Here it is (hope you enjoy!):

”No! No, daddy!”

She couldn’t stop crying. Her small hands were trying as best as they could to grab his shirt to make him stay. She had heard her mommy and daddy arguing and had eavesdropped on them, only to find out her daddy had already packed his stuff in a big suitcase. Miranda screamed and tears ran down her face while her mother sobbed beside her, her hand curled up under her nose as she stared at her husband.

She looked up, barely seeing anything through her eyes filled with tears. Her mouth was twisted in an ugly grimace, her heart beating hard against her chest. How could this happen to them? What was wrong?

”Daddy, don’t go!”

Upon her exact words, she saw her daddy shake his head and walk away, holding his suitcase tightly as though it was the only thing he had left in this world. And it was.

Her mommy burst into tears and slammed the door, crumbling to the floor. Miranda had just enough time to scream her lungs out and hold out her hand to try and reach her daddy before he turned the corner and went out of their lives forever. But she hadn’t made it in time and the door closed in front of her. The little girl was shaking with heart-wrenching sobs. Her mommy, crying, wrapped her arms around her and pulled her into a tight hug. Miranda knew, deep down, that it was only her and her mommy now.

And she was right for he never came back.

2Bs or Not to 2Bs: Bios and Background Stories

Hello, folks!

I’m nearly done writing my main characters’ bios. Soon, I’ll be able to write their background story!

Here are their names: Miranda Kane and Thomas Lance.

One of them is a sweetheart, and the other is… very complicated.

In my point of view, though, they’re both extremely lovable.

I should also find a title. But ideas have yet to come to my mind about it.
Moreover, I have found a LGBT short story I had started writing a while back and I intend on continuing it this week. Polishing it, preparing it in order to publish it. I’ll keep you updated about this. 🙂

Happy NaNoWriMo Prepping!

P.S.: Out of topic, but I can’t wait to Halloween!

New Project & NaNoWriMo 2015

Hello, folks!

I have a good update to tell you: I am starting a new project.

I am currently writing multiple short stories and I intend on making an eBook out of them for you to grab and read. 🙂 Isn’t it just fun?! It will include short stories of all length, perhaps even a few flash fictions.

I would love to share an excerpt with you, but let’s keep the surprise ;)…

Does any of you have good Web sites to make eBook covers?

Thank you.

If you have any input or questions about this project, please, do leave me a comment. I’ll be more than happy to answer!

Moreover, I have decided to enter NaNoWriMo again this year, and so I joined the October Prep group on Writing.com. This is a group where we prepare ourselves for NaNoWriMo through little activities and brainstorming, and even some contests! It’s good old fun, if you ask me. 🙂

On this, I wish you a very good evening (or day)!

You’ll hear more about it throughout October as I post fun facts about my characters and in November some excerpts from the actual story.

Thank you for reading me.

See you at the next post!

On the Publishing Path!

As you know, fellow writers, I’m the winner of Camp NaNoWriMo 2014.

That same story (Down to Earth) I’ve won with is now at the publishing stage. I need help to see my dream come true as I cannot make the future payments, having already made two of $500.

Please, take a look at my fundraising and share the word. It would mean the world to me.

My story of acceptance and finding your inner powers might just help someone. So help me in my endeavor to entertain and help people.

Thank you very much.

Here is my Kickstarter: Down to Earth

(You can leave me any comments or questions you have about my project; I will gladly answer :))

You can read the prologue to my novel on the Kickstarter page.

Here is my writing portfolio for you to enjoy :): GypsyHeroWoman

I’d appreciate it if you could leave a review on a writing of your choice. It will help me improve. Thank you very much.
