To Do or – Oh, Wait, This Looks Fun!

I am supposed to write Thomas Lance’s background story excerpt today. However, I have this story of mine that keeps surfacing… It’s from a dream I had a year or so ago, and it really wants to be written.

I keep seeing the characters in action and the setting like a real movie in my mind! So, I’m torn between doing what I must for NaNoWriMo Prep and starting this new story.

Everybody knows what wins.

So, I’m off to writing the new story!

I already know its title, but I won’t tell you ;). A woman has to keep some things secret until the big reveal.

P.S.: A HUGE thanks to my followers. It means a lot to me to see that my journey writing is of interest to you. Please, if you want to interact, leave me comments and I’ll be more than happy to respond!

2Bs or Not to 2Bs: Bios and Background Stories

Hello, folks!

I’m nearly done writing my main characters’ bios. Soon, I’ll be able to write their background story!

Here are their names: Miranda Kane and Thomas Lance.

One of them is a sweetheart, and the other is… very complicated.

In my point of view, though, they’re both extremely lovable.

I should also find a title. But ideas have yet to come to my mind about it.
Moreover, I have found a LGBT short story I had started writing a while back and I intend on continuing it this week. Polishing it, preparing it in order to publish it. I’ll keep you updated about this. ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy NaNoWriMo Prepping!

P.S.: Out of topic, but I can’t wait to Halloween!

New Project & NaNoWriMo 2015

Hello, folks!

I have a good update to tell you: I am starting a new project.

I am currently writing multiple short stories and I intend on making an eBook out of them for you to grab and read. ๐Ÿ™‚ Isn’t it just fun?! It will include short stories of all length, perhaps even a few flash fictions.

I would love to share an excerpt with you, but let’s keep the surprise ;)…

Does any of you have good Web sites to make eBook covers?

Thank you.

If you have any input or questions about this project, please, do leave me a comment. I’ll be more than happy to answer!

Moreover, I have decided to enter NaNoWriMo again this year, and so I joined the October Prep group on Writing.com. This is a group where we prepare ourselves for NaNoWriMo through little activities and brainstorming, and even some contests! It’s good old fun, if you ask me. ๐Ÿ™‚

On this, I wish you a very good evening (or day)!

You’ll hear more about it throughout October as I post fun facts about my characters and in November some excerpts from the actual story.

Thank you for reading me.

See you at the next post!

Let’s… Let us not, after all.

We will talk about the biggest problem besides writer’s block that writers face every day: yes, procrastination. It’s like the devil in disguise because while we enjoy doing other activities, always putting writing to later, it’s not actually beneficial to us. It’s like instant coffee: it’s a lie we love to tell ourselves.

I have found tips to vanquish procrastination. They aren’t numerous, but they’ll have to do. The first one is a bit twisted; it consists of making you feel quite guilty about not writing while you’re doing your other activities. This one is hard and painful, but necessary I have found.

Then, you have to remind yourself of it, constantly. Place post-it’s around the house, saying ‘You should be writing’, a note in your agenda (if you have one), etc.

When you’ll be sick enough of it, trust me, you will sit down and write a bit, even if just for a few words or sentences. It’s starting; procrastination is slowly losing.

As for the final tip, there is nothing better than to actually DO! This is the most difficult point and yet the only one really worth it. I have noticed that since I stopped other activities to write and focus on my priority, I have never been better! Things are falling into place and my general feeling has improved. I now feel content.

I know procrastination is a hard one to break, but it’s worth it. Pluck up your courage, grab your will, and DO it. Do it for yourself; it’ll be one of the best things you could have done. All the rest will soon follow. That poem you wanted to publish? Done. The story you’ve been putting off for too long? Done.

Doesn’t it feel great? Fantastic, even?

Yes.

You’ll see how everything then falls into its proper place. I love it now and wouldn’t live without it. I battled procrastination for months and finally won. You can do the same.

So go on ahead and DO it.

Poetry Comes Your Way

Here are two poems I wroteย around 5 years ago whilst I was still in college. They are somewhat dark and remotely inspired by Death Note, a manga/anime that was popular at that time and which I still love a great deal.

If you see

In the night

A big shadow

Crawling over you

Don’t worry

It’ll be your fate

To have it with you.

As for the second one:

I don’t believe

In all those tales you tell

But I do believe

In those lies you tell

Because I’m all into you

How could I see

That you were going down on me?

That doesn’t sound like something

I can get over

So I renounce and bow down

To the true Master

This way I salute you.

I really hope you enjoyed it. If you did, how about leaving me a comment? Also, you can become my patron in order to get more of my writing, may it be short stories, novels, poems, etc., right here:ย Patron

On the Publishing Path!

As you know, fellow writers, I’m the winner of Camp NaNoWriMo 2014.

That same story (Down to Earth) I’ve won with is nowย at the publishing stage. I need help to see my dream come true as I cannot make the future payments, having already made two of $500.

Please, take a look at my fundraising and share the word. It would mean the world to me.

My story of acceptance and finding your inner powers might just help someone. So help me in my endeavor to entertain and help people.

Thank you very much.

Here is my Kickstarter: Down to Earth

(You can leave me any comments or questions you have about my project; I will gladly answer :))

My Comeback

Hello, folks!

I have three good news for you:

  • I am back and happy to be so,
  • A publishing house has accepted to publish my novel Down to Earth (YES! You have read well!),
  • I am sharing my writing portfolio with you for your entertainment.

Yes, FriesenPress is going to publish my book this year. Only 8 chapters and a bit of editing are left to do. I am so excited! I use Scrivener and pens and paper to write it. You, what do you usually use?

Here is my writing portfolio for you to enjoy :):ย GypsyHeroWoman

I’d appreciate it if you could leave a review on a writing of your choice. It will help me improve. Thank you very much.

I am so happy!
